I’m excited to announce that my single “The Price of Love” has been released. I produced, wrote and performed this song which is why it is released under the name “Cecilia Mackie on Mackie.”
Price of love is a cry for help on a bed of trop-house. Embossed organ overtones and a throbbing, smooth electro bass leave you yearning for more like you longed for oven-warmed samples after stepping out of that chocolate factory in Antwerp. The clicking and clacking of a perfect drum rack could be mistaken for a symphony of Cinderella’s heels sampled as they reverberate on the marbled floors at Versailles. Ok I’m new to this whole sound metaphor thing so cut me some slack. Yeah this is Cecilia Mackie herself working Oxford and Websters like Sheeran dances with his guitar.
The lyrics imply the price of love was high and swipes, likes and men of all types led to unsuccessful forays for our renowned protagonist. The message is relatable and simple: There is, or has been to date, more downside than upside in the love department.
